Plans for Whiskey Road in Glenside delayed due to failed inspection

Plans for Whiskey Road, a forthcoming pub restaurant at 106 S. Easton Road in Glenside (the former Blue Comet), have been delayed following a building inspection last month.

According to Whiskey Road’s kitchen manager, Ted (who preferred to withhold his last name), the failed inspection involved concerns over a drainpipe from the roof to the bottom of the building.

“They’re in there trying to put a new pipe in now. It’s gonna take awhile,” he said, noting that the job is expected to take “at least a couple of months.”

“We won’t be able to do anything until that takes place. We did what the building inspector said to do. We had all of our paperwork done and they said we could open the doors,” Ted said. “We have our licenses for beer and liquor, then the other inspector came in and said, ‘This is not what I asked you to do.’ We told him that it will be done.”

The property had been vacant since December 2022 when an interior pipe burst. A hiring event took place in September 2024. Ted said Whiskey Roads is fully staffed, and that their employees, many of whom are Glensiders, have been notified of the delay.

We will be in touch with updates.
