Press Release:
Dear Arcadia Community,
This is an important moment for Arcadia University. With a keen appreciation for the importance of stability and long-term vision, the Board is pleased to announce that President Ajay Nair has been unanimously reappointed to a six-year term. This decision reflects the Board’s confidence in his leadership and provides continuity as Arcadia advances its strategic priorities and navigates a challenging higher education environment.
Since assuming office in April 2018, Dr. Nair has helped guide Arcadia through a period of significant change. Under his leadership, the University successfully implemented Arcadia2025 and has begun the work of advancing Arcadia2030, which the Board approved earlier this month. He has also helped to reinforce Arcadia’s commitment to providing a mission-driven education with an ongoing focus on enrollment, retention, and student success; expand partnerships; and lead and support efforts to diversify revenue streams to position the University for long-term vitality.
We recognize his contributions to Arcadia’s progress and to the University’s mission-centered work during a time of significant challenge across higher education. We also recognize the importance of steady, thoughtful leadership as the University continues to adapt and plan for the future.
Given the challenging financial landscape in higher education, Dr. Nair has voluntarily reduced his salary next academic year, which reflects a commitment to shared sacrifice and accountability. We also applaud his generosity in establishing the Ajay and Paayal Nair Endowed Scholarship for Arcadia students.
In a time when presidential turnover across higher education remains high, Arcadia will benefit from continued leadership during a complex and important period. We are grateful for Dr. Nair’s leadership and look forward to working with him in the years ahead.
Sincerely,
J. Lynne Cannon ’68, Co-Chair
Kevin Shollenberger ’88, Co-Chair
