Senator Maria Collett of Fort Washington announced $500,000 for site work supporting the next phase of the Upper Moreland Township Police Station project.

The funding will cover excavation and grading, storm water management and a new storm sewer, relocated sewer, water, and electric service, new parking areas and roadways, and the building pad for the new station.

“Our police officers do their jobs best when they have facilities built for the work, and this funding moves Upper Moreland’s new station forward. I am glad to support a project that invests in both public safety and the people who provide it,” said Representative Nancy Guenst.

The grant is part of $4,250,000 in Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP) funding for six community projects in Senator Collett’s district.

“I pushed for these grants because I have seen what these places mean to our community and the people who count on them. A Healthy Pennsylvania is about more than avoiding illness. It comes down to whether the people around us have what they need to be whole, and every one of these projects helps build that. Right now, Mitzvah Circle is packing diapers and clothing for families in crisis across Montgomery County, and they have outgrown the room to do it. A growing Lower Gwynedd Township needs a public works facility that can keep pace for the crews who keep the township running. Peter Becker is rethinking how it cares for its skilled nursing residents, and I know from my own years in nursing how much those details matter. Upper Moreland’s new police station is an investment in the officers who keep our neighborhoods safe. In Whitpain, a new community center will give families a place to gather and stay active close to home. At Gwynedd Mercy University, accessible classrooms will open doors for students of every ability. This is the work I came to Harrisburg to support, and I am proud to have delivered it for Montgomery County,” said Senator Collett.
