Prescriptions from the former Rite Aid at 1321 Easton Road in Abington are being transferred to the CVS at 2870 Moreland Road in Willow Grove (Upper Moreland Township), and prescriptions from the former Rite Aid Pharmacy at 2182 County Line Road in Huntingdon Valley (Lower Moreland Township) are being transferred to the CVS at 765 E County Line Road in Hatboro, according to a Pharmacy Closure and Transfer List released by Rite Aid.
The transfers are part of CVS Pharmacy’s acquisition of select Rite Aid assets nationwide. In all, CVS purchased the prescription files of more than 9 million patients.

In July, the Rite Aid was included among a list of 40 Pennsylvania closures as part of its ongoing bankruptcy proceedings. In May, the company announced that “it is pursuing a strategic and value-maximizing sale process for substantially all of its assets” and is in talks with multiple potential buyers. Two weeks later, the company announced that the Rite Aid at 805 Huntingdon Pike in Huntingdon Valley was included in a list of 68 locations that are set to close in the near future.
In greater Glenside, the store in the Abington Shopping Center closed in October 2023, and the Dreshertown Plaza location closed two months later.
The Rite Aid at 1441 Old York Road in Abington Township is now a Grocery Outlet.
