Grocery Outlet coming to former Rite Aid space at Abington Shopping Center, Roslyn Village Commons expected to lease a new tenant for its Rite Aid location soon

Update: The original version of this article incorrectly conflated the Rite Aid locations. We apologize for the error.

A Grocery Outlet is reportedly coming to the Abington Shopping Center at 1441 Old York Road in Abington Township.

On September 9, Warminster Grocery Outlet’s Facebook page shared the flyer below:

Ownership said in a comment that the store is planning to open on November 6. The store locator on Grocery Outlet’s website does not yet list the location, which went up for lease in October 2024.

The Roslyn Valley Shopping Center, also known as Roslyn Village Commons at 1321-1351 Easton Road in Abington Township, is the process of locking in a new tenant for the shopping center’s Rite Aid.

“We have some prospects on the table. No lease has been signed yet,” vice president Jake Doyle of Equity CRE (which manages the shopping center) told Glenside Local today. He noted that a firm answer is expected in about a month.

In July, the Easton Road Rite Aid was included among a list of 40 Pennsylvania closures as part of its ongoing bankruptcy proceedings. Christian Abraham and Edward Delaney requested a Special Exception pursuant to Ordinance §1005 to allow a G-1 Amusement Arcade at the location, according to the township’s Zoning Hearing Board agenda from June 17.

More to come.
