Nancy Jane Wright passed away peacefully on March 3, 2025 at Thomas Jefferson University
Hospital, Philadelphia, PA after a short illness. Nancy was 64 years old.
Nancy was born in Abington, PA on June 14, 1960 to loving parents, Dr. Tom and Marilyn
Wright. Nancy was the only daughter and middle child of three children. She spent her entire life
in the Abington community and had a strong sense of family, community and faith. Nancy
graduated from Abington High School in 1978 and went on to earn a degree from Hollins
College (University) in Roanoke, VA in 1982 and from Temple University School of Law in
Philadelphia, Pa in 1985.
Nancy was a member of the Montgomery County and Pennsylvania Bar Associations and
practiced law for over 37 years with the law firm of McBride Murphy and later Richard McBride
in Blue Bell, PA. Nancy had a successful law career and was a well-known and well-liked
presence in the Montgomery County Courts.
Nancy was ebullient, generous, and intensely interested in others. She had a passion for horses
and riding her entire life. She was a lifelong member of Grace Presbyterian Church in
Jenkintown, PA and served in many roles and capacities there. She provided volunteer legal
services to women through a domestic violence agency. Nancy loved to provide conversation
and food to friends, neighbors, church members and others who needed support. Nancy served
as a member of the Board of Trustees for the Abington Memorial Hospital Foundation for
several years and, more recently, as a Trustee of the Abington Township Free Library.
Nancy is survived by her devoted husband of 12 years, Richard (Rick) Malone; and her two
stepchildren, Sean (Jen) Malone and Collin (Marissa) Malone. She is survived by her brothers
Andrew (Cheryl) Wright and Frederick Wright, two nieces, Lauren (Ryan) Yeager, Kristen (Lon)
Giancola and nephew Jonathan (Amanda) Wright. She loved all dearly.
Nancy was predeceased by her parents, Dr. Thomas Wright and Marilyn Wright (nee Kirk ).
Nancy’s celebration of life will take place at Grace Presbyterian Church (444 York Road,
Jenkintown, PA 19046) on March 15th at 2:00pm. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Nancy’s memory to Grace
Presbyterian Church or Abington Free Library.
