The Abington Fire Company announced that multiple crews were dispatched at approximately 1:25pm today for a vehicle which had driven into the wall of a shopping center building at 939 Old York Road in Jenkintown.

The vehicle was found on its side with one entrapped occupant, who was safely removed and transported by Second Alarmer’s Association and Rescue Squad of Montgomery County.

The Weldon and McKinley fire companies assisted in the rescue, officials said. The building was assessed for damage and crews remained on scene while the vehicle was removed.

Abington police announced earlier today that a segment of Old York Road was temporarily closed due to the accident. The roadway is now open.
