Jefferson Abington honors 5 employees with Williamson Award

Jefferson Abington Hospital recently honored five staff members with the Williamson Award, which recognizes individuals who reached milestone anniversaries and have made meaningful contributions.

“Awardees exemplify Jefferson’s core values to Put People First; Do What’s Right; and Pursue Excellence, and are exemplary stewards who actively participate in hospital-based and community activities,” a press release said. 

Honorees were presented with an engraved plaque, a Williamson Award pin and a monetary gift. Staff members are nominated by their department managers, directors or senior leaders.

The five members recognized for outstanding work are:

Herb Auerbach, DO
Chair, Department of Pathology
35 years of service

Orvil Grunmeier, RN
Staff Nurse – Neurology
35 years of service

Dolores Hartey
Staff Assistant – Nursing Administration
35 years of service

Kathy Mallon, RN
Nurse Manager – Emergency Trauma Center
35 years of service

Joseph Peterson
Lead Environmental Services Associate – Environmental Services
25 years of service

Since the award’s inception in 1983, more than 250 individuals have been recognized with this special honor. The Williamson Award was founded by the Williamson Family (Williamson Caterers) who have been active and supportive members of the Abington community for more than 60 years.
