Homicide investigation underway in connection to body found in parking lot in Cheltenham Township

Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin R. Steele and Cheltenham Township Police Chief John Frye have announced a joint investigation into a homicide. The victim was identified as 50-year-old Christian Williams of the 400 block of East Cheltenham Avenue in Philadelphia.

Williams’ body was discovered just before 10:00 a.m. by a person walking a dog just along the 100 block of Tookany Creek Parkway in Cheltenham Township. The deceased was inside a parked car in the parking lot of William Gottschalk Field.

Cheltenham Police found that the victim was restrained in the driver’s seat and had apparently been shot in the chest. An autopsy by the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office was being scheduled.
