Abington School District has received $248,788 in state grants from the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency to improve safety, security and mental health support services, State Rep. Ben Sanchez announced today.
The funds are part of the School Safety and Security Committee’s goal to ensure that all Pennsylvania students can learn in safe, healthy school environments by helping school entities address basic safety needs and mental health services identified in the committee’s recently adopted Revised Baseline Criteria Standards.
“Prioritizing the mental well-being of students and school staff is the cornerstone of fostering a resilient and thriving educational community. By nurturing minds and hearts alike, we lay the foundation for a brighter future,” Sanchez said. “Students deserve to feel safe and secure while within the sanctuary of their schools. Working to deliver these funds to Abington and Upper Dublin ensures children can reach their full potential as they learn, grow, and thrive.”
