Upper Moreland police station, Beth Sholom Congregation, Cheltenham Township public works facility to receive substantial grants for improvements

Senator Maria Collett has announced $5,500,000 in Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP) grant funding for six community projects in her district, including $750,000 for the Upper Moreland Township Police Station.

Upper Moreland Township will use the funds for Phase 2 of their Police Station construction project.

“This new facility is a critical investment in the safety and well-being of our community,” said Rep. Nancy Guenst (D-152 Montgomery). “With a modernized space that meets the needs of both the public and our law enforcement officers, we’re ensuring that our police have the resources to serve and protect with excellence.”

In related news, Rep. Napoleon Nelson announced the following facilities will receive grants through the RACP:

  • Beth Sholom Congregation (Elkins Park): $1,200,000 for the preservation of its Frank Lloyd Wright-designed building, including crucial repairs and restoration of the dome structure.
  • Cheltenham Township Public Works Facility: $450,000 to design and construct a new facility that will enhance operations and provide better amenities for our public works employees.
  • Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA):
  • Cheltenham Township Rowland Community Center – Phase 1: $1,000,000 for renovations to the community center to better serve our residents.
