The Cheltenham Township Police Department announced that a stabbing took place this morning on the SEPTA 55 bus.

Officers and EMS responded to the area of Old York Road and Breyer Drive in Elkins Park around 8:07am where they found a male with a stab wound to the head.

The victim was transported to an area Trauma Center for treatment and is expected to survive, police said.

Two suspects fled from the bus prior to police arrival but were apprehended after a foot pursuit in the area of Meetinghouse and Township Line roads. Members of the Abington Township Police Department assisted in the apprehension, police said.
