BET Investments has requested a meeting with Abington Planning Commission to propose their plan to build an age restricted apartment community on the properties located at 1059, 1067 and 1073 of Old York Road in Abington. The current structures on these properties will be knocked down and a two hundred and twenty five unit, multistory apartment building, will be constructed. These three properties are currently zoned in the Community Service District and the R-3 District (Residential) of ward #7. BET Investment, Inc. proposes to create a new use within the zoning ordinance which would be a H-12 Use or otherwise known as Senior Apartments Use. In addition, they are requesting modifications to the permitted density, impervious coverage, building height, set backs and green space.
Abington has only agreed to the meeting and nothing else. The meeting will be held on March 21, 2018 at 7:00p.m.at the Abington Senior High School Auditorium. This meeting is NOT a formal review. If the Board of Commissioners were to go ahead and elect the hearings on BET Investments’ application, the public will be notified.
