A Hyundai which had been stolen from Cheltenham Township in August and used during an August 23 armed robbery may be connected to another armed robbery in Center City on August 28, The Philadelphia Inquirer reported.

During the August 28 incident, two masked men were recorded on video robbing a man at gunpoint on the 1200 block of Sansom Street, “one armed with a handgun and the other an AR-15 style rifle”, according to PhillyPolice.com.

An arrest warrant has been issued for Shakur Nichols, described as a “Black male, 6’0″, 170 lbs., wearing all black, black facemask and armed with an AR-15 style rifle.” A 32-year-old man is also wanted in connection to the robbery, described as a “Black male, 6’0″, 160 lbs., wearing all black, black mask, black/white New Balance sneakers and armed with a black handgun.”

NBC10 reported that Nichols may have been involved in other gunpoint robberies in Center City, including an August 23 incident involving three men who took cell phones, watches, car keys, wallets, driver’s licenses, and cash.

A getaway driver in the Hyundai was also involved in that robbery, police said.
