The Springfield Township Police Department announced that a recent scam has been targeting users in Flourtown and Cheltenham.

According to their post, the scammer is sending users a text message from TD Security saying their account has been compromised.

“The link provided is giving scammers access to your device and account information. Scammers are moving funds into the checking account from other accounts and letting the victim think that TD Staff are behind it, and that the security department is going to make an arrest,” the post said. “They are instructing victims to take money out and either meet a TD security person at a nearby location, or to drop the money in a car in the parking lot, which then flees the area. TD Bank will never provide you a link to press if there is a problem with your account. You may receive a text or call, but call the main number and ask for security.”

Police said TD Bank is aware of the scam and bank management is helping users process their fraud and get their accounts back.
