Go Bananas Frozen Yogurt, located at 401 York Road in Jenkintown, will host a grand opening at 4:00pm on Friday, September 25.
Owner Gabby Ye, a Jenkintown resident since 2023, told Glenside Local the day will include discounts as well as limited merchandise for purchase.
“The last few months have been fun, hectic, and a lot of trial and error. It’s been an exciting journey,” Ye said, noting that her team fully outfitted the interior of the building, which was formerly Oswald’s Pharmacy. “There was nothing, it was a blank canvas. The outside is still in its original state, and the landlord is going to be replacing the awning and signage.”
Ye has a background in the restaurant industry and told Glenside Local in May that the idea for the shop came from her daughter.
“We have kids now, and I realized that there are a lot of bars and entertainment in the area, but I sometimes have trouble finding a place to take my kids for a treat,” she said. “One day, my 12-year-old said she wanted a frozen yogurt, so I thought that sounded like a great idea for a new shop.”
Ye said Go Bananas’ flavors have been chosen by the community, “so everything we have right now is what everyone wants.”
“We’re trying to cater to everyone. We have sugar free options and vegan options so everyone gets a little piece of dessert,” she said.

- Sunday – Thursday: 11am – 9pm
- Friday – Saturday: 11am – 10pm
