Owner of the former Melrose Country Club in Cheltenham to file for mixed-use redevelopment of the property: Medical offices, assisted living facilities, single-family townhomes proposed

7600 Tookany Creek Parkway CRCP, LLC, owner of the former Melrose Country Club in Cheltenham Township, recently sent a letter to area residents notifying them that the company intends to file a zoning application for the mixed-use redevelopment of the 116-acre property.

According to the memo, the proposal includes a medical office building, a traumatic brain injury center, an assisted living/memory care facility, office/retail structures, and a mix of age-restricted and non-restricted single-family townhomes.

Amee S. Farrell, Esquire, who wrote the memo, told Glenside Local that the club is listed as “former” because it is “public/no longer a private club.”

Additional improvements include a township-programmed community amenity open to all residents and approximately 45 acres of open space, walking trails, and plazas.

In April, the company submitted plans for roughly 300 single family townhomes, including 130 55+ housing units and assisted living facilities.

JC Melrose Country Club purchased the property in 2004 then sold the property in 2021 to 7600 Tookany Creek Parkway CRCP, LLC, which is associated with BG Capital, according to property records.

Two public information sessions are to be held on Tuesday, September 3 and Tuesday, September 10 from 7:00pm to 9:00pm at the main clubhouse of the Melrose Country Club.

The memo notes that there will be public meetings before the Township Planning Commission and Building and Zoning Committee, and a hearing before the Zoning Hearing Board once the application is processed. The dates and times of those meetings are forthcoming.
