Abington police bid farewell to retiring Officer and Director of Records and Operations

The Abington Township Police Department announced today the retirements of Officer James Dwyer and Director of Records and Operations Dave Hendler.

Officer Dwyer is stepping down after 21 years of service. From the department’s post:

On behalf of the men and women of the Abington Township Police Department, we express our sincere gratitude for Officer Dwyer’s dedicated and honorable service to our community and his fellow officers. May he enjoy what is truly important in the next chapter of his life, his family. May God bless Jim with many years of health, happiness, and a few more grandchildren!

Hendler is stepping down after 19 years of service. From the department’s post:

Dave has been an invaluable member of our department, known for his expertise in records management, CODY systems, and compliance issues. He has also been a committed member of our Command Staff, contributing in many ways. On behalf of everyone at the Abington Township Police Department, we extend our heartfelt thanks to Dave for his unwavering dedication to the people of Abington Township and to our team. We wish him enjoyment in this next chapter of his life, filled with good health and happiness. Best wishes to Dave and his family. May they be blessed!
