Gov. Shapiro issues statement regarding recent terroristic threats against PA General Assembly, speaks at Chamber of Commerce for Greater Philadelphia assembly

Governor Josh Shapiro issued a statement yesterday regarding the recent terroristic threats made against members of the Pennsylvania General Assembly.

According to CBS21, 20 state lawmakers were allegedly named in a hit list posted on X.com by Adam Berryhill, 42. Berryhill has since been arrested, Pennsylvania State Police said.

Shapiro said state police are now using a new process to notify members of the General Assembly immediately of any threats of violence against them.

Shapiro wrote in the statement that “while these threats of political violence seek to intimidate and silence, my Administration will continue to do everything our power to keep them safe”.

In related news, the governor took part in a conversation with the Chamber of Commerce for Greater Philadelphia on Tuesday evening at the Academy of Natural Sciences in Center City, 6ABC reported.

According to their coverage, Shapiro “discussed everything from his loyalty to Philadelphia sports — even when they face Pittsburgh teams — to his vision for the future of the Commonwealth.”

“Our economy is growing. We’ve got the only growing economy in the northeastern part of the United States,” Gov. Shapiro said. “We’ve created more jobs in Pennsylvania than in all but two states in the entire country, and we’re coming for Texas and North Carolina.”
