National Weather Service predicts another rainy weekend in greater Glenside

The National Weather Service is forecasting a nor’easter which is expected to bring more wet weather into our region this weekend.

According to the forecast, light rain on Friday will turn into steadier rain on Saturday as the storm travels northward. Gusty winds are also possible Saturday night or Sunday. 

“The storm is likely to evolve into a potent nor’easter and produce a zone of heavy rain, strong winds and building seas,” AccuWeather Chief On-Air Meteorologist Bernie Rayno said.

The NWS’ weekend forecast is as follows:

Friday

Rain likely, mainly after 2pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 67. Southeast wind 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.

Friday Night

Rain likely. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 53. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.

Saturday

A chance of showers. Partly sunny, with a high near 62. Chance of precipitation is 50%.

Partly cloudy, with a low around 48.

Sunday

Mostly sunny, with a high near 57. Breezy.

Sunday Night

Mostly clear, with a low around 40. Breezy.
