Joe’s Unique Creations at 745 Edge Hill Road in Glenside has been going strong since 2022.

The shop offers custom T-shirts, sublimation, vinyl, tumblers, business apparel, memorial items, personalized gifts, and more. Owner Joe Martin, a Maryland native, said the idea for a T-shirt shop came from his late fiancée.

“When she passed away in December 2021, it was just me and the kids. She wanted to open a business making and selling T-shirts, so I went out and bought her the equipment,” he said. “I was going to surprise her.”

Martin operates out of his basement in Abington Township, which he says has helped cut down on overhead and increased time with his family.

“The shop has helped me cope. Doing this has helped me stay home with my kids,” he said, noting that direct-to-film (DTF) T-shirts are the company’s most popular service.

“We bought a brand new high-end printer, and that’s what helped the business take off. We do quality work and I don’t let anything out of the door that I wouldn’t wear myself,” he said. “I want to be part of the community I live in and help whoever I can with whatever they need. Our work is produced locally, and we serve customers throughout Glenside, Abington, Jenkintown, Cheltenham, Wyncote, Willow Grove, and the surrounding communities.”
