Montgomery County polling places relocated

With the November 2nd general election on the horizon, the Montgomery County Board of Elections has authorized the relocation of 26 polling places.

The changes will affect the following municipalities: Abington, Jenkintown, Lower Merion, Lower Pottsgrove, Lower Salford, Norristown, Plymouth, Pottstown, Springfield, Upper Dublin, Upper Gwynedd, Upper Merion, and Whitpain townships.

According to Dori Sawyer, Montgomery County’s Director of Elections, the polling locations and representatives of both Democrat and Republican parties have been notified of the changes.

The following local polling places affected and their new locations are as follows:

  • Abington 12-1 & Abington 12-2 New Life Presbyterian Church, 467 N. Easton Rd., Glenside, PA 19038 to Abington Junior High School, 2056 Susquehanna Rd., Abington, PA 19001
  • Abington 14-2Trinity Community Church, 1200 Easton Rd., Roslyn, PA 19001 to Roslyn Fire House, 1128 Bradfield Rd., Roslyn, PA 19001
  • Jenkintown 2Jenkintown Elementary School, 325 Highland Ave., Jenkintown, PA 19046 to Jenkintown High School, 325 Highland Ave., Jenkintown, PA 19046
  • Lower Merion 07-2 & Lower Merion 07-3Penn Wynne Elementary School, 250 Haverford Rd., Wynnewood, PA 19096 to Temple Beth Hillel-Beth El Synagogue, 1001 Remington Rd., Wynnewood, PA 19096

Most of the places on the local list are returning to their original polling places, pre-COVID-19 with the exception of Abington 12-1 ans 12-2, which is moving due to a rescheduled construction project at New Life Presbyterian Church and Jenkintown which is due to a request to consolidate precincts in the high school gym.
