John Michael Harman, 34, of Maryland, was sentenced to 20 to 60 months in prison for illegally possessing a firearm in Jenkintown in March 2025, The Pottstown Mercury reported.
Harman pleaded guilty to charges of carrying a firearm without a license and person not to possess a firearm.
According to The Mercury, the investigation began on March 2, 2025, when a Jenkintown woman reported that Harman, her ex-boyfriend, was at her apartment and would not leave. Harman reportedly slept in his car the night before and showed up unannounced in the morning at her apartment on Linden Street.
Harman was allegedly intoxicated when he arrived at the apartment. The woman reported that previous domestic incidents had taken place between them.
When police responded, they found Harman in his vehicle with a black semiautomatic handgun in the front passenger seat. A criminal history check revealed that he was prohibited from possessing a firearm, and a records check determined Harman did not have a valid permit to carry a firearm.
