Maurice Champen, 38, of Delaware County, faces 10 to 20 years in prison for sexually assaulting two juvenile girls between September 2019 and July 2025 at locations in Jenkintown Borough and Cheltenham Township, The Pottstown Mercury reported.
According to their coverage, Champen knew the mother of the girls, both of whom were under the age of 13.
An investigation began in September 2025 when the girls reported to police that Champen sexually abused them multiple times over the course of several years. The abuse reportedly began when they lived on Washington Lane in Cheltenham Township around 2019. The last incidents occurred in July 2025 when the family lived on Old York Road in Jenkintown.
The girls said they were 11 and 8 years old when the abuse began, The Mercury said.
Champen was charged with rape of a child, aggravated indecent assault of a child and endangering the welfare of children, The Mercury said. He also faces a lifetime requirement to report his address to state police in order to comply with Pennsylvania’s Sexual Offender Registration and Notification Act
He will remain in the county jail without bail while awaiting his sentencing hearing.
