Lower Moreland police awarded Pennsylvania Law Enforcement Accreditation

The Lower Moreland Township Police Department announced today that it has been awarded Pennsylvania Law Enforcement Accreditation.

The accreditation follows a two-day assessment in March on behalf of the Pennsylvania Law Enforcement Accreditation Commission which determined that the department met and/or exceeded the 136 high standards that cover the best practices, policies, and procedures.

According to the department, Lower Moreland is one of 160 police agencies in the state to receive accreditation.

“We have worked very hard over the past three years to ensure our compliance. This is a source of pride for our agency,” the department said in a statement. “Our goal has always been to provide you, the community, with the most up to date and professional police practices. We have worked hard to achieve this level of service you deserve so that together we can keep Lower Moreland Township one of the safest communities in Montgomery County!”

An official township recognition will take place during the next Board of Commissioners meeting in June, the department said.
