Lower Moreland man involved in funeral procession crash

Nick Mancini, a resident of Lower Moreland Township, was involved in a crash during a funeral procession just after 12:00pm on Wednesday, April 24, Delaware Valley News reported.

According to the article, a driver failed to notice the procession traveling through the intersection of Roosevelt Boulevard and Welsh Road in Philadelphia.

At least two people were taken by medical units to local hospitals, Delaware Valley News said, though the injuries were not serious. Mancini refused treatment at the scene for injuries.

The article notes that, according to state law, a vehicle in a funeral procession has the right of way as long as signage indicating a vehicle is part of a procession is clearly displayed.

In this case, a placard was visible on the dash of one of the vehicles, the article said.
