Latest information from Montgomery County on the Coronavirus

Montgomery County officials announced today that there are 100 new cases of Coronavirus in the county. That brings the total to 1,502 total cases in the county. There were also six additional deaths.

Two of the deaths were in the local area, one in Abington and one in Cheltenham. There have been five total deaths in Abington and four in Cheltenham.

In an update in regards to the testing site at Temple’s Ambler campus, it was damaged today during the storm and had to be closed. It was to close permanently tomorrow, but it was announced that the federal government had decided to continue to support the program and it will be moved to Montgomery County Community College. It will now operate through the end of May.

Locally, the numbers are as follows:

  • Abington Township is at 112, which is nine more than yesterday
  • Cheltenham Township is at 110, which is five more than yesterday
  • Jenkintown is at 12, which is one more than yesterday
