Jenkintown Borough Council’s August 28 agenda includes a public hearing on the transfer of a liquor license from an Amazon Fresh store in Upper Moreland Township to Giant Company, LLC.

The hearing is necessary because the license to be transferred is from outside the borough. If Council approves the transfer, it will then go through an approval process involving the PLCB. 

Giant representative Tom Cormier told the borough in June that the forthcoming grocery store will not open until early 2025. It was originally expected to open by Thanksgiving.

The Amazon Fresh, to be located in the Willow Grove Shopping Center, was moving towards opening when we checked with Upper Moreland Township’s manager in the spring.
