Cheltenham Hall of Famers meet up at UVA, former Panther has strong performance in ESU football season opener

Glenn Fine and Craig Littlepage, 1974 and 1969 graduates of Cheltenham High School, respectively, convened earlier this month at the University of Virginia’s Miller Center where Fine was interviewed regarding his latest book, “WATCHDOGS: Inspectors General and the Battle for Honest and Accountable Government”.

Fine (above left) is a former U.S. Department of Justice inspector general, Littlepage (to his right) a former athletic director at the University of Virginia.

According to local historian Chuck Langerman, the pair share much in common: both are Cheltenham High School Alumni Association Hall of Famers, All-State basketball players, Ogontz Junior High alumni, the first two 1,000-point scorers in school history, and former Ivy League scholar-athletes.

In related news, Lateef “TJ” Harris, a 2019 Cheltenham High School graduate, recorded 10 tackles and two pass breakups in his season’s debut with the East Stroudsburg University football team. The Warriors went on to a 24-12 victory over Edinboro University.

According to Langerman, Harris helped lead the Panther football team to the PIAA 5A football championship game at Hershey Park Stadium in 2019. Under head coach Ryan Nase, the Panthers finished with 14 victories, the most in the 125-years history of the school’s football program.

Harris, a first-team All-Southeastern Pennsylvania defensive back, finished his career with 16 interceptions, the most in school history. Now a redshirt senior at ESU, Harris was named PSAC East Defensive Athlete of the Week twice last season.
