Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin Steele announced on Tuesday that 42-year-old Kelvin Roberts of Philadelphia and 41-year-old Charles Fulforth of Jenkintown have each been charged with first-degree murder for the deaths of a 61-year-old Lower Merion woman and her 25-year-old son on Sunday, December 8.
Fulforth was originally charged with second-degree murder, among other charges. Roberts was arrested by Upper Moreland police yesterday at Junkluggers Willow Grove, his and Fulforth’s place of employment.
Officials also said Roberts and Fulforth were trying to steal guns from a Bucks County home but mixed up the address with the Lower Merion house.
A press conference regarding the arrests was held on Tuesday:
Steele said the son, Andrew Gaudio, was shot in the back of the head as he was on the floor of his mother’s bedroom.
“They went to the house with bad intentions and shot an innocent 61-year-old woman as she lay in her bed, and they executed her 25-year-old son,” he said.
The Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office is asking residents who have hired Junkluggers to report stolen items or burglaries.
“There was someone within the business that was feeding them information, and our investigation is ongoing,” he said.
He noted that the suspects are involved in gun trafficking, adding that a 3D printer and indications of a “ghost gun” were found.
Anyone with information should contact the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office at (610) 278-3090.
