Jefferson Abington Hospital announced today the hiring of Judd D. Flesch, MD, who will serve as Chair of the Department of Medicine.

Dr. Flesch joins Jefferson Health from Penn Presbyterian Medical Center where he served as Vice Chief for Inpatient Operations in the Department of Medicine, and Associate Program Director and Site Director for the Internal Medicine Residency Program. He also served as Co-Director of the Penn Medicine Program for LGBT Health.

“An accomplished physician leader and clinical educator, Dr. Flesch brings extensive experience in hospital operations, clinical expertise in Pulmonary, Allergy, and Critical Care Medicine and a strong commitment to patient-centered care,” the announcement said.

Dr. Flesch earned his Doctor of Medicine from the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, and completed his residency, chief residency and Pulmonary and Critical Care fellowship at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.
