Montgomery County’s COVID-19 data hub shows that were 24 cases of Coronavirus on September 16th, 64 on September 17th, and 61 on September 18th. The total number of cases countywide since the start of the pandemic is now 11,633.
No deaths were reported. The total number of deaths in the county since the start of the pandemic is 830. There have been three deaths in September thus far. There were seven deaths during August, 21 in July, and 106 in June
The 14-day PCR positivity rate as of September 11th is 3.18%. The percentage has grown slightly since a mid-August low of 2.47%. It is slightly down from September 9th when it was 3.25%. Having this percentage below 5% is considered having the virus under control.
As of September 19th at noon, hospitalizations due to Coronavirus is at 22 in Montgomery County according to state data. Six patients require a ventilator. The number of hospitalizations has decreased during September. On September 11th the number was 41 and on September 14th there were 29.

Over the past 14 days, the number of cases has increased by 17 over the previous 14 days. Over the last seven days, the number of cases has increased by seven over the previous seven days.
The numbers being reported by the county are actually going down after they are initially reported. The original numbers from September 11th to September 15th totaled 224. As of this morning (September 21st), those days now total 197, a 27 case decrease.
Last week, MoreThanTheCurve.com inquired about this and it was shared that out-of-county college students who are testing positives are using their home address in Montgomery County when registering to be tested. Contact tracing is then switching the address to the county where they go to college and Montgomery County’s cases are reduced.

- Cheltenham is 699 cases. There have been 54 deaths
- Jenkintown is at 37 cases. There have been no deaths
- Springfield is at 656 cases. There have been 90 deaths
- Rockledge is at 22 cases. There has been one death
