Local historian Chuck Langerman shared memories of the now-defunct Open Hearth restaurant, located at 1321 Cheltenham Avenue in the Melrose Park section of Cheltenham Township.

According to Langerman, the dining destination operated from 1959-1981.

“I liked the hearts of lettuce with Russian dressing,” he said.
