Froot in Wyndmoor, a family-run eatery offering hand-crafted smoothies, acai, salads and grain bowls, opened its doors in June at 909 E Willow Grove Avenue.
The shop was created when Locals Coffee owners Alana and Scott Davis decided to move their location down the street to the recently vacated Santander Bank at 800 E Willow Grove Avenue to take advantage of a larger space with a drive-thru option. They partnered with Froot co-owners Susan and Jim McGoldrick to create a new concept within the former Locals Coffee space.
“We’ve seen an exciting, engaging audience of customers who’ve come in and felt the vibe. The quality of our products is top-notch. We have our staple menu items and BYO options. People enjoy our staff. They’re friendly and kind, and there’s a lot of laughter,” Alana said. “Our Locals Coffee business has grown tremendously and is thriving. We’re getting more passers-by who are able to find us.”
“Wyndmoor has been thriving over the last few years. We’re loving being there,” she said.
Froot is intended to be a healthy cafe-style destination offering breakfast and lunch alternatives for families, teens, local businesses, students or passers-by. The shop’s menu items include anything from the Mango Lassi Smoothie to the Zeus Greek Grain Bowl, as well as the ability to ‘Build Your Own’ bowl.
“You can build your own acai, green, banana, or yogurt-based bowl. You can also build your own salad or grain bowls as well as signature menu items,” Alana said.
Seasonal specials, including last week’s cheddar and salami panini with homemade tomato basil soup, a catering menu and mobile ordering available as well.
