Forecasters calling for 1-2″ of rain by Thursday night, Phillies postpone home opener

The National Weather Service is predicting 1-2 inches of rain in greater Glenside by Thursday night with temperatures in the 30s, 40s and 50s.

Forecast in mind, the Phillies have decided to postpone their season opener tonight. The game against the Atlanta Braves will now be held on Friday at 3:00pm.

The first drops are expected to begin today and increase Thursday morning and into the afternoon.

Rain likely, mainly after midnight. Patchy fog between 10pm and midnight. Otherwise, cloudy, with a low around 43. Calm wind becoming southeast around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Rain. High near 52. Northwest wind 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.

Rain likely, mainly before 11pm. Cloudy, then gradually becoming partly cloudy, with a low around 37. Northwest wind 10 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Sunny, with a high near 54. Breezy, with a northwest wind 15 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 35 mph.
