Fatal shooting on West Glenside Avenue in Glenside

There was a fatal shooting last night on the 400 block of West Glenside Avenue in Glenside (Cheltenham Township). Below are the details from a press release and coverage from 6ABC Action News:

Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin R. Steele and Cheltenham Township Police Chief John Frye announce the joint investigation into a homicide that occurred in the 400 block of West Glenside Avenue in the Glenside section of Cheltenham Township on March 15, 2020.

On Sunday, March 15, 2020, at approximately 9:12 p.m., Cheltenham Township Police responded to the 400 block of West Glenside Avenue for a reported shooting. Cheltenham Township Police Officers arrived on scene and located a 28-year-old male, who had sustained an apparent gunshot wound to the chest. He was transported to Abington Memorial Hospital and pronounced dead. The identity of the male is being withheld pending family notification.

An autopsy is scheduled for today at the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office.
