Dr. Christina Davis, N.D., former owner of The Golden Wellness Center in Glenside and co-founder of Davis International Bake Shops, passed away on Thursday, February 5. She was 85.
Dr. Davis “dedicated her life to integrating natural and conventional approaches to wellness” which led her to open her private N.D. practice in Glenside in 1998, her obituary said. She held a doctoral degree in naturopathy and conducted research into holistic healing for more than 30 years, according to a 2002 article published by The Reporter. According to their coverage, Dr. Davis was the founder of the award-winning Stairs of Gold Research Association, which she headed from 1979 to 1997.
She also co-founded and served as president of the Peace Valley Holistic Center in Chalfont (Bucks County), a nonprofit for special needs children, youths, and families. Dr. Davis was honored in 2007 with a Congressional Award for her many years of service to the community.
A Philadelphia native, Dr. Davis also worked for National Bank in Philadelphia as an international clearing agent, and in her 20s, she served as an assistant executive with NFL Films. In her 30s, she co-founded the Davis International Bake Shops that brought Termini’s pastries into Bucks and Montgomery Counties, her obituary said.
In her younger years she “was a ballerina and with her uncle’s band, sang professionally with Frankie Avalon. Later in life she had an audience with and sang for Pope John Paul II,” her obituary said.
Services will be at Saint Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 1795 Columbia Ave., Warrington, PA 18976, Saturday, February 14. Family and friends are invited to attend Dr. Davis’ viewing from 10am – 11am, with Mass at 11:00am. Dr. Davis’ interment will immediately follow at Our Lady of Czestochowa Shrine, 654 Ferry Road, Doylestown, PA 18901.
