Joe Burke, Jr., co-owner of Trevi BYOB in Glenside, has made it to the Top 15 in Carla Hall’s Favorite Chef competition. The first round ended on Thursday.
Burke is currently first in his group at the time of this writing. The winner receives $25,000, an appearance in Taste of Home magazine, and a chance to cook with celebrity chef Carla Hall.
From the nomination:
Who or what inspires you to cook?
In order to become a good chef, you have to find inspiration from within. It’s what drives you to keep getting better. Like my father said, ” you’re only as good as your next dish…” so you have to keep pushing and be honest with yourself that it’s better than the last.
What’s your all time favorite dish to make?
Linguini & Clams. Its simplicity should not taste that good!
What would you do with the $25,000?
I would take my family on a well deserved vacation. They have supported me to get where I’m and they deserve it more than me & I’d invest in my kitchen to better myself beyond this point.
“I strive for every meal to be better than the last and truly take pride in anyone who trusts me to feed them,” Burke said.
