Cheltenham School District pivoting from mask mandate

In a letter to Cheltenham families, Dr. Brian W. Scriven, Superintendent of Schools, announced that the Cheltenham School District will not longer adhere to a mask mandate in District schools and District transportation.

From the letter:

With Montgomery County now in the “medium” category per the CDC’s new community levels tool, I am announcing that, effective Monday, March 7, 2022, the Cheltenham School District will pivot from its current mask mandate to “mask recommended” for students and staff in our buildings and riding our transportation. CSD will not enforce its mask mandate in schools or on transportation. Additionally, the CSD Board of School Directors will vote to accept the amended health and safety plan, which will include language around “mask recommended,” at its Tuesday, March 8, 2022, legislative meeting. The rest of the district’s health and safety plan will remain in effect.
