Cheltenham Police release photos of armed robbery suspect

The Cheltenham Township Police Department has released images of a suspect wanted in refernce to an arm robbery and impersonating a police officer.

From the Cheltenham Police Department:

“On November 4, 2021 at approximately 5:40 PM, the suspect committed a retail theft at Wal-Mart in the Cedarbrook Plaza, 1000 S. Easton Road, Glenside, Pa. When confronted, the suspect displayed a firearm, threatened store employees and stated he was a police officer. Patrol officers attempted to stop the suspect as he fled in the above van. The suspect fled from police, striking another vehicle with the van.”

The suspect is a white male, 45-55 years old, approximately 6’3” tall with a medium build, last seen wearing a blue 76’ers baseball hat, a light colored “True Religion” sweatshirt, blue jeans, and gray sneakers. He was wearing a blue surgical mask and dark glasses. The suspect had a large sheathed knife on his belt and was armed with a black handgun.

The suspects vehicle was a White Chevrolet work style van with windows on the passenger’s side and back. Vehicle has a (possibly fraudulent) temporary registration and numerous stickers/decals affixed to the rear doors and windows. The van also has a “CHEVY” decal affixed to the top of the front windshield. The van was last seen travelling east on Cheltenham Avenue from 19th Street, toward Broad Street.
