The Cheltenham Township Board of Commissioners recently shared an update regarding the Township’s Facilities Study, the details of which date back to 2021.
From the Board’s Progress Report:
Cheltenham’s Facility Study is necessitated because every single one of Cheltenham’s facilities, including its service buildings, community centers, pools, and libraries, are functionally obsolete and require significant costly maintenance and improvements for them to continue to operate. Since late last summer, Cheltenham Township has been working with KCBA Architects and Re:Vision Architecture to evaluate our 16 facilities—which have an average age of almost 120 years—and to help the Township develop a plan to either make the necessary improvements to safely meet modern needs or to retire, renovate, or build new facilities to serve the current and next generations of Township employees and residents.
The Board noted that another progress report is forthcoming and will be shared with the public as soon as possible.

In related news, Cheltenham School District is asking for your help via a Strategic Plan Branding Survey, which will remain open until May 31.
From the announcement:
While the school year may be winding down, CSD is eagerly driving the work of the Cheltenham School District strategic plan. Strategic goal six calls for the development and promotion of CSD’s unique brand.
Based on the results of the recent community Thought Exchange, CSD knows it has a foundational strength in its diversity, but when people think of Cheltenham School District, what additional benefits and values should the brand represent? The brand committee of students, staff, families and community members has started the work to more clearly define our brand, and we are asking to hear more of the voices of our school community.
We encourage all community members to share your insights via a survey. The survey will remain open until Wednesday, May 31. Thank you in advance for your support and participation in this important strategic step.
