Two Cheltenham graduates were recently in the news for their accomplishments:

Dr. Wendy S. Garrett, MD, PhD, a 1990 Cheltenham High School graduate and Harvard Medical School physician/scientist, was recognized with the prestigious 2023 Marian Ropes, MD Award by the American Society for Clinical Investigation.
Dr. Garrett, a leading cancer researcher, is a Professor of Immunology and Infectious Diseases in the Departments of Immunology and Infectious Diseases and of Molecular Metabolism at the Harvard University Chang School of Public Health.
Dr. Garrett is also a medical oncologist at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston where she treats and advises cancer patients. She earned both her M.D. and Ph.D. from Yale University.

Molly Cohen, a 2021 Cheltenham High School graduate and current University of Pennsylvania junior,has been named the incoming President of “The Daily Pennsylvanian,” the independent student-run newspaper of the University of Pennsylvania.
The award-winning newspaper was founded in 1885, and Molly will start serving as its 140th President in January.
For the past year, Molly has worked as a News Editor at “The Daily Pennsylvanian.” At Penn, Molly is majoring in Political Science and Communications.
According to local historian Chuck Langerman, Molly was involved in a myriad of co-curricular activities during her Cheltenham days. She was Editor-in-Chief of “The Cheltonian,” a varsity field hockey team member, Charity Chair of Student Council, and President of the National Honor Society.
She was able to participate in all these activities in high school while maintaining a perfect 4.0 GPA.
