Representative Madeleine Dean of Glenside addressed the conclusion of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) shutdown.
The department has been without routine funds since February 14. According to the Associated Press, President Donald Trump signed today bipartisan legislation to fund the DHS, “but not its immigration enforcement operations, shortly after the package won final approval in the House, ending the longest agency shutdown in history.”
The legislation funds DHS agencies such as the Federal Emergency Management Agency, the Coast Guard, the Transportation Security Administration and the Secret Service through the end of September.
