The Abington Township Police Department announced that officers observed two individuals rolling suspected marijuana and manipulating items inside a backpack earlier this evening during drone training at the McKinley Fire Station.

According to their report, the individuals were uncooperative during an investigation following a pedestrian stop, and a search of the backpack revealed a loaded revolver, later confirmed to be stolen out of Philadelphia.

Both individuals resisted arrest but were taken into custody after a brief struggle, police said. A third person who interfered with the investigation was also detained.

An Officer Assist call was issued which resulted in a large police presence from neighboring departments. The incident was safely resolved without injuries and was captured by a drone.
