Abington man sentenced for posting risqué photos & phone numbers of female friends on the internet

Daniel F. Wright, 24, of Willow Grove recently pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of stalking six women between May 2020 and July 2021.

In court, one of the victims referred to Wright as “a disgusting, perverted, unwell human being.” According to The Reporter, he took photos from the females’ social media accounts and “somehow obtained nude or semi-nude photos that some of the women previously sent to their former boyfriends and then posted those photos online.”

His actions caused the women to be sexually harassed via text message by unknown males. Under a plea agreement, Wright has been sentenced to three years’ probation.

Some of the women had known Wright since high school.

From Abington Township Police Department’s arrest report:

In March of 2021, The Abington Township Police Department was contacted by a female who stated she had repeatedly been receiving lewd text messages and social media messages which included photographs of herself accompanied by men performing sexual acts.  Throughout the investigation, three additional victims were identified. The victims reported having inappropriate pictures of themselves posted on sexually explicit websites. The investigation led to an arrest warrant being issued for a 22-year-old suspect, Daniel Wright, of the 2000 block of Lamott Ave in Willow Grove.  On July 13th, 2021, Abington Police Officers arrested Wright.  Wright is being charged with three (3) counts of stalking and indecent exposure.
