Abington man faces lengthy prison sentence for sex with underage girls

Larry Perry, 53, of the 1700 block of Fleming Avenue, was sentenced to 52 to 104 months in a state correctional facility after pleading no contest to two felony counts of statutory sexual assault and two misdemeanor counts of corruption of a minor.

The judge ordered as part of the sentence conditions that Perry must adhere to a psychosexual evaluation’s recommendations for treatment and to have no contact with the victims – two underage girls he met while he was teaching at Parkway Center City Middle College in Philadelphia. The incidents occurred between 1997 and 2010

At the sentencing, Montgomery County Judge Wendy G. Rothstein told Perry:

“You failed as a teacher. Those students trusted you. You took advantage of your position of trust to become a classic sexual predator. Your conduct is despicable. Your conduct was predatory. You are a sexual predator.”

In 2019, the investigation of Perry began after one of the victims, who was then in her 20s, reported to Abington police what had occurred between her and Perry when she was between the ages of 13 and 17.
