Abington Senior High School graduates Charles Shefcik, a volunteer at McKinley Fire Company, and Michael Franchetti, a volunteer at Abington Fire Company, recently received the 9th annual David G. Kelble, Jr. Scholarship, courtesy of the David G. Kelble, Jr. Memorial Foundation and Helmets Off 4 David.

Today was the 9th presentation of the David G Kelble Jr Scholarship at Abington High School. We would like to congratulate Charles Shefcik, a volunteer at McKinley Fire Company and Michael Franchetti, a volunteer at Abington Fire Company. Two deserving canidates of this year’s scholarships. Thank you to everyone who has supported us in honoring David and supporting the first responder community over the last nine years.

To honor David G. Kelble Jr. by supporting the first responder community, in which he was a part, by offering scholarships to volunteer first responders, to help them further their education, and provide grants to help promote volunteerism and improve safety in the first responder community.
