Hatboro man with prior record sentenced for antique gun possession

Angel A. Rodriguez, 47, of the 200 block of Byberry Road in Hatboro, was sentenced to 11.5 to 23 months in prison after he pleaded guilty to a felony charge of person not to possess a firearm, The Pottstown Mercury reported today.

According to their coverage, Rodriguez was found in possession of an 1851 Colt Navy .44-caliber antique revolver when he was prohibited by law from having firearms.

He also received a consecutive three-year period of probation as part of his sentence.

During an investigation on July 16, 2025, detectives found a firearm wrapped in a plastic bag, drug paraphernalia—including two glass tubes for smoking methamphetamine and two digital scales for weighing substances—in Rodriguez’s apartment.

Rodriguez had a previous conviction for possession with intent to deliver controlled substances, The Mercury said. He also pleaded guilty to stealing $581 in merchandise from the Home Depot store along Easton Road in the Willow Grove section of Upper Moreland Township on May 2, 2025.
