Lori Rubin of the Rydal section of Abington Township has been named the new executive director of Golden Slipper Club & Charities, a Bala Cynwyd-based nonprofit.
“I’m excited to share that I’ve stepped into the role of Executive Director at Golden Slipper,” Rubin wrote in a LinkedIn post. “I’m honored to lead Golden Slipper into the future and look forward to working with a dedicated team to build connections and expand our impact.”
According to The Jewish Exponent, more than 200 kids attend the Golden Slipper Camp each summer. The organization has a group called Human Needs and Services which offers grants to families in need, as well as a Passover League which offers similar pools of money for low-income families and communities that want to organize Passover Seders.
“I think that, while Golden Slipper has been around for 100 years, not a lot of people know about all the facets of Golden Slipper,” Rubin told The Exponent. “I want to get more kids to camp, provide resources for people in need and get the funds for doing so.”
Rubin is a member of Beth Tikvah B’nai Jeshurun and Or Hadash congregations and spent the last three and a half years as the director of leadership and governance at the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia. Before joining the Jewish Federation, she worked as the Associate Executive Director at the Katz JCC in Cherry Hill, NJ and previously worked as the Associate Executive Director at the Jewish Federation of Greater Harrisburg and as the Chief Program Officer at Jewish Learning Venture.
According to her LinkedIn profile, Rubin is a 1994 graduate of Arcadia University’s Masters in Education program.
