First ‘Code Blue’ of season declared for Montco

The Montgomery County Commissioners have declared a “Code Blue” cold weather emergency from 8:00pm on Wednesday, October 16 until 8:00am on Thursday, October 17.

During this 12-hour period, the temperature or the wind chill is expected to be at or below 32 degrees Fahrenheit for two or more hours.

The county declares a Code Blue when winter conditions threaten serious harm or death to individuals without shelter. Residents of Montgomery County who need emergency shelter during a Code Blue can call the Your Way Home Call Center at 610-278-3522.
